Get to know your wedding photographer!
Wright & Oistad Photography is two people, but you’ll mainly be dealing with the guy below. (Not the toddler, the big one.)

Lead Photographer
Jonathan is the artistic driver and people person. The aesthetic and approach of W&O's photography comes from him, he's the guy you'll speak to most of the time, and you'll be working closely with him on the day and in the run up to your day.

Manager
Liv currently takes care of the back end stuff - accounts, calendars, and general administration. She is the steady rock of Wright & Oistad who reminds Jon to keep things in perspective and be true to himself.
Something about us.
Wright & Oistad is Jonathan & Liv. Jonathan (that’s me, your author) is the photographer and main point of contact and Liv does the admin and accounts. We love the outdoors, hiking, camping, and we live in Kent near the sea. 99% of the time you’ll be dealing with me, Jonathan, and it’s me who’ll be photographing you and joining you on your wedding day, elopement, or engagement shoot. Hi.
I was a professional musician for 15 years, and became one of the UK’s leading online session guitarists. I also toured with established artists and ran a high end party band, playing hundreds of weddings and corporate events. So I’ve been in the wedding industry for about 15 years, and have worked with a vast number of wedding co-ordinators, events planners, brides, and grooms, all around the UK and internationally.
Before wedding photography I did a lot of photography and videography in the hair and fashion industry in London - interviews, headshots, music videos, corporate stuff. I circled around wedding photography doing commercial, portraits, and street photography (a great grounding in candid documentary photography which is a large part of wedding photography). Eventually I realised that wedding stills photography combined my favourite aspects of all of photography - working with different people and catching beautiful images that really MATTER.
I’m a qualified counsellor so emotions and big feelings are welcome, if they’re around. I’m also warm, very professional, respectful of boundaries, and non-judgemental. So for example if your family is complex, or the day contains grief as well as joy, I’ll work compassionately with that.
The evening dancing is one of my favourite parts of the day to photograph! I don’t understand the photographers who go home after the first dance - this is when the fun stuff is about to happen.
Obviously the wedding photographer you book is going have quite an impact on your day, and of course they’re responsible for providing you with images that become memories, that become heirlooms. I think it’s important that you know a bit about me and feel that I’m the right person for YOU - someone you’ll be happy to be around on this, unique, pressurised, joyous, beautiful day. Tell me about your date - get in touch now.
